KUALA LUMPUR:
The woman who was found dead along the Kesas Highway jumped out from a moving vehicle after an argument with her husband, Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said today.

Rusdi said the couple, who had been married for about 20 years and have two children, got into a quarrel as the wife wanted to drive the van but the husband refused because she did not have a licence.

“She said she wanted to jump, and then she did. Then the husband just continued driving home like nothing happened,” he said at a press conference here today.

He described the case as a routine domestic quarrel between the two, adding that the 50-year-old husband, who was arrested at a house in Taman Kinrara, Puchong, yesterday, is under remand until May 10.

The suspect tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine, and benzodiazepine. He also claimed that his wife had been using meth.

The case is being probed under Section 304A of the Penal Code for causing death by negligence, which carries a jail term of up to 30 years and a fine.
