PETALING JAYA: A Myanmar construction worker died in an accident involving a sand pump at a housing construction site in Pulau Gadong, Melaka, today.
Melaka Tengah fire and rescue station operations commander Ismail Harun said they received an emergency call at 11.56am and rushed seven personnel to the site.
“At 12.06pm, we found that a male Myanmar worker had become stuck in the sand pump while working.
“A medical officer confirmed the victim’s death. Work to extract the 26-year-old victim’s body from the machine is ongoing,” Harian Metro reported him as saying.
