PETALING JAYA:
Police have recorded statements from five people on the death of a trainee pilot who fell from the 39th floor of an apartment block in Sungai Besi on Tuesday.

Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan said they included the complainant, a police officer on duty at the Cheras control centre.

“The others are a housing agent, the victim’s brother, a car owner and his housemate,” Berita Harian reported him as saying today.

Aidil said an autopsy determined the cause of death was due to multiple injuries consistent with a fall from a great height.

“The family claimed the victim’s body at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz’s forensic unit yesterday.

“There are no criminal elements in the case so far,” he said.

The New Straits Times reported yesterday that in the 10.53pm incident, the 19-year-old victim was found unconscious on the roof of a car parked in front of a nasi kandar restaurant in the building.

Aidil said investigations revealed the victim had rushed out of his apartment and ran towards the staircase leading up to the 39th floor.

“CCTV footage showed the victim’s movements. Broken glass and his mobile phone were also found at the scene,” he said.

A medical team from the hospital confirmed the victim’s death at 11.34pm.

Aidil stated that the victim’s family said he was a quiet person who did not have a girlfriend and showed no signs of depression.

The case has been classified as sudden death.
