PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) nabbed two policemen yesterday for allegedly soliciting a RM6,000 bribe from a man during a vehicle inspection at a Seremban petrol station.
A MACC source said the two suspects, in their 30s, were arrested between 1pm and 3pm yesterday at two separate locations in Seremban and had been remanded for five days from today, Bernama reported.
The source said the duo were believed to have solicited the bribe from the man, a company owner, last Sunday.
“During the vehicle inspection, the suspects seized the individual’s MyKad and demanded a bribe of approximately RM6,000 in exchange for its return,” the source said.
Negeri Sembilan MACC director Awgkok Ahmad Taufik Putra Awg Ismail confirmed the arrests.
