BUKIT MERTAJAM:
Police are investigating a food delivery rider who allegedly sent an offensive message containing a racist remark to a customer through a delivery app.

When contacted by Bernama, Seberang Perai Tengah police chief Helmi Aris confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

“The police have opened an investigation file for this case under Section 298 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,” he said.

Yesterday, national unity minister Aaron Ago Dagang called for stern legal action against the delivery rider, saying such behaviour was completely unacceptable.

A teacher in Penang reportedly filed a police report over the offensive message from the rider.
