PETALING JAYA:
KLIA Terminal 2 will be temporarily inaccessible to road users tomorrow and on Thursday in conjunction with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s three-day state visit to Malaysia.

This was announced by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) in a post on its official Facebook page today, Bernama reported.

It said that there will be no access to the terminal dedicated to budget airline operations, except via the KLIA Transit service from Terminal 1.

The temporary closure will affect all departures, arrivals and parking areas, MAHB added.

“Terminal 2 is accessible only via KLIA Transit from Terminal 1.

“Likewise, passengers arriving at Terminal 2 during the temporary closure must take the KLIA Transit to Terminal 1 before proceeding with their transport arrangements,” it said.

According to MAHB, full road closures will be implemented from 6pm to 7pm on Tuesday, and from 8.50am to 9.50am on Thursday.

The roads involved are Lebuh KLIA, ELITE Expressway, Lingkaran Putrajaya, Lebuh Putrajaya-Dengkil, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang and Jalan P5.

“Travellers should plan their airport commute outside the road closure times if possible to avoid delays,” it said.

MAHB also recommended travellers to use the KLIA Ekspres train service from KL Sentral to-and-from KLIA Terminals 1 and 2, or the KLIA Transit from KL Sentral, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya or Salak Tinggi station to-and-from KLIA Terminals 1 dan 2.

However, if driving to the airport was unavoidable, then MAHB suggested an alternative route to KLIA Terminal 1, using the ELITE Expressway, via the route passing Serenia toll plaza, Kota Warisan mosque roundabout, Jalan KLIA 1 and the Charterfield roundabout.

Yesterday, police announced that several roads in the Klang Valley and Putrajaya will be fully closed or diverted in stages from Tuesday to Thursday in conjunction with Xi’s visit.
