Aaron-Wooi Yik march into BAC semi-finals with convincing win

The world No 5 pair took only 30 minutes to defeat their higher ranked archrivals from Indonesia in straight games.

PETALING JAYA:
National men’s doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik have booked their berth in the semi-finals of the Badminton Asia Championships in Ningbo, China.

The world No 5 pair defeated Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian-Rian Ardianto, ranked world No 4, in straight games 21-16, 21-11 in a match lasting 30 minutes.

They will meet the winners of the match between Indonesia’s Shohibul Fikri-Daniel Marthin and Chinese pair Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang.

Aaron-Wooi Yik won the bronze medal at last year’s BAC, while Wei Keng-Wang Chang won gold at the tournament.
