Malaysiakini reported him as saying he had lodged a counter police report against PKR deputy information chief Chua Wei Kiat, who had earlier said he had lodged a police report on the matter.
He called on the Rawang assemblyman, who is also running for the post of Selayang PKR chief, to retract his allegation.
“I deny being a member of PKR.
“I am the chairman of the Selayang MIC division, so there is no need for me to join any other political party.
“Furthermore, PKR is not a party which helps the Indian community,” he said.
Earlier today, Chua said in a Facebook post that the MIC leader’s membership in PKR was registered on Oct 24 last year.
He called it a “calculated move” to infiltrate PKR with the purpose of influencing the Selayang division-level party polls.
“Interference like this cannot be taken lightly as it involves external parties attempting to take advantage of our party’s internal system,” said Chua.
Following Sivanyanam’s denial, Chua told FMT that he would leave it to the police and the leaderships of both parties to investigate the matter.
He reiterated that registration for PKR membership involves a strict and secure e-KYC process, which includes MyKad identity verification and real-time facial recognition.
“It is not a process that can be completed by someone else on behalf of another person,” he said.
