
KLIA gained six places in the World’s Top 100 Airports 2025 rankings released yesterday, up from 71st last year.
It was ranked ahead of airports such as Barcelona, Budapest, Adelaide, Hamburg, and Atlanta.
Top of the list was Singapore’s Changi Airport, whose CEO, Yam Kum Weng, received the award in Madrid yesterday.
Changi Airport also received other major awards, including for the world’s best airport dining, the world’s best airport washrooms, and best airport in Asia.
Qatar’s Hamad Airport ranked second, also receiving the award for the world’s best airport shopping and best airport in the Middle East.
Japan’s Haneda Airport ranked third, followed by South Korea’s Incheon Airport, and Japan’s Narita Airport.
