5-month-old dies at daycare centre, no external injuries on body

The case has been classified as sudden death but the cause of death is still under investigation.

No arrests have been made over the death of the five-month-old baby boy, said police.
PETALING JAYA:
A five-month-old reportedly died at a daycare centre in Kangkar Pulai, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, yesterday, with no external injuries found on the baby’s body.

Iskandar Puteri police chief M Kumaresan said the baby boy was found unconscious by the babysitter, who is in her 30s.

The baby was taken to Hospital Sultanah Aminah where he was confirmed dead. An autopsy found no signs of injuries on the body, Kumaresan said.

The child’s mother, 31, lodged a report at 4.24pm yesterday.

Kumaresan said the case has been classified as sudden death but the cause of death is still under investigation, Bernama reported.

No arrests have been made, he added.
