JPJ says Lamborghini not seized after all

It says the Lamborghini Aventador driver was only issued a compound during the integrated operation in Jalan Bangsar last night.

KUALA LUMPUR:
The road transport department (JPJ) has clarified that it did not seize the Lamborghini Aventador driven by a man without a licence as earlier reported.

In a Bernama report, JPJ said the 28-year-old content creator was only issued a compound during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri integrated operation in Jalan Bangsar last night.

“We only issued the driver a compound and allowed those with valid licences to drive their vehicles. We apologise for any confusion caused,” it said.

Earlier today, federal territories JPJ director Hamidi Adam said the car was among 27 vehicles seized during the operation, from a total of 1,627.

The driver, a Chinese national, had been heading to his home in Damansara Heights with his girlfriend after attending the launch of a fast-food restaurant in Kepong.
