PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested a male suspect over allegations that a student at a religious school in Ampang had been sodomised.

Siti Kamsiah Hassan, principal assistant director of Bukit Aman’s sexual, women and child investigation division, said the victim’s father filed a report on the matter last Sunday.

She said the complainant claimed that the incident happened in April last year, when his 14-year-old daughter was allegedly sodomised in a bathroom by the suspect, who is the son of a staff of the school.

“Earlier the same day, while they were in the school dormitory, the suspect allegedly hugged the victim, grabbed her hand, and put it in his pants.

“The police have arrested the 18-year-old suspect to assist in investigations,” she was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.

Siti Kamsiah said the victim, who was traumatised by the incident, told her friend about what had happened.

“She did not tell her father as she was afraid he would get angry with her,” she added.

The case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
