
PETALING JAYA: Five Malaysians were among those injured in an accident involving two tour buses in Tokyo, Japan, yesterday, according to Wisma Putra.
In a statement, the foreign ministry said the Malaysian embassy in Tokyo confirmed that all five Malaysians suffered minor injuries and were sent back to their hotel after being treated at a hospital.
The incident, which took place at approximately 10.15am on the Chuo Expressway in Hachioji, western Tokyo, involved two buses carrying a total of 47 passengers. Most of them were foreign nationals.
Police said the accident occurred when one of the buses rear-ended the other.
According to the Kyodo News Agency, none of the victims had life-threatening injuries following the collision.
