5 Malaysians involved in Japan tour bus accident, says Wisma Putra

All five Malaysians suffered minor injuries and have been sent back to their hotel after being discharged from hospital.

Five Malaysians were among those injured in an accident involving two tour buses in Tokyo, Japan, yesterday, according to Wisma Putra.

In a statement, the foreign ministry said the Malaysian embassy in Tokyo confirmed that all five Malaysians suffered minor injuries and were sent back to their hotel after being treated at a hospital.

The incident, which took place at approximately 10.15am on the Chuo Expressway in Hachioji, western Tokyo, involved two buses carrying a total of 47 passengers. Most of them were foreign nationals.

Police said the accident occurred when one of the buses rear-ended the other.

According to the Kyodo News Agency, none of the victims had life-threatening injuries following the collision.
