Wan Rosdy said the temporary R&Rs were set up at a cost of RM2.5 million for the comfort of motorists during the Aidilfitri travel exodus, after road users complained of a lack of toilets and prayer rooms along the central road.

“I am saddened that some continue to engage in vandalism and littering. Such actions damage the facilities and incur repair costs, which ultimately come from taxpayers’ money,” he said, Bernama reported.
“These facilities are meant to prevent accidents and offer rest, prayer, and toilet facilities,” he said.
Wan Rosdy acknowledged that it may be difficult to transform the habits of some who would litter instead of using rubbish bins.
“Changing habits can be difficult, as some are used to littering. However, I believe this problem will be reduced over time. We will run campaigns to address it,” he said.
The state government plans to build permanent rest stops in Bentong, Raub and Lipis to meet the needs of road users, especially over festive seasons when traffic is more congested.
