PETALING JAYA:
Entrepreneurs affected by the Putra Heights gas fire are to get six months’ relief from repayments to the Tekun entrepreneurial fund.

The affected entrepreneurs can also withdraw their savings from their Tekun Nasional accounts, the ministry of entrepreneur and cooperatives development said today.

It said Bank Rakyat is also offering six-months’ loan relief for individual and business customers.

Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia entrepreneurs whose businesses have been destroyed will receive cash assistance of up to RM4,000, while entrepreneurs receiving treatment in hospitals will receive RM500 a day.

“The aim is to ease the burden faced by entrepreneurs who are facing challenges such as damaged business premises, goods or homes.

“Overlapping assistance is also being offered for capital injections or additional financing to help cover business recovery costs or immediate needs following the incident,” said the ministry.
