Search for autistic child to carry on tomorrow

The search for an autistic child who went missing yesterday will be continued tomorrow morning after authorities found no new leads today.

Baling fire and rescue chief Zulkhairi Tanjil said the search and rescue operation was halted at 5.30pm, Berita Harian reported. It will resume at 8.30am, he said.

“Today, the K9 unit carried out a search along the river, while divers from the Sungai Petani fire department searched for the child in Sungai Kupang,” he was quoted as saying.

Four-year-old Fayyad Affan Fakhri was reported missing after leaving his home at the drainage and irrigation quarters in Kampung Landak Paya, near Baling.

Fayyad, who has a speech disorder, is believed to have left his house through the back door.
