KUALA LUMPUR:
Traffic along several federal roads in Gua Musang, Kelantan is reported to be heavy with the number of vehicles travelling from Kuala Lumpur increasing as of 10pm.

Gua Musang police chief Sik Choon Foo said congestion at the Gua Musang-Kuala Lipis border has exceeded 10km, twice that of this morning.

“Traffic is slow moving and we expect the number of vehicles to continue to rise from midnight till early next morning,” he said.

Police were conducting dispersals at regular intervals to ensure smooth traffic.

In Terengganu, traffic along two major routes in Jertih, connecting Terengganu and Kelantan, has become more congested.

However, there was smooth traffic at the Kuala Terengganu-Kota Bharu route in Jertih and Kampung Raja, according to Besut police chief Azamuddin Ahmad@Abu.

“To reduce congestion, police have added one more lane from the direction of Kuala Terengganu to Kota Bharu starting from the Jertih town till the front of the Jertih police station.”
