In a statement, Puspakom said the rates for MVS and MTS were increased from RM100 to RM120 for the first 50km, and from RM3,000 to RM3,300 for the first 50km, respectively.
Its CEO Mahmood Razak Bahman was quoted as saying that vehicle inspection fees remained unchanged.
“The rate adjustments were made after a thorough study to ensure the sustainability of Puspakom’s mobile services for the benefit of its customers,” he added.
Mahmood said the new rates reflected current operational costs to ensure continued efficient and reliable services to meet its customers’ expectations.
Puspakom’s MTS provides mobile inspection services to companies with large fleets, such as commercial vehicle operators, freight forwarding companies, driving schools, and vehicle dealers.
Meanwhile, its MVS offers inspections for private vehicles, including for ownership transfers, expired road tax, and the registration of imported vehicles.
Both services provide convenience to its customers by allowing inspections at their preferred locations without the need to visit a Puspakom branch.
The last review of service fees was conducted in 2007, despite annual increases in the Consumer Price Index, Puspakom said.
