PETALING JAYA:
The Selangor select committee on competency, accountability and transparency (Selcat) is probing several complaints about infrastructure issues hindering investments in Selangor.

In a statement, Selcat chairman Lau Weng San said a survey form had been published on the Selangor state assembly’s portal to gather more information about the problems. This will serve as the foundation for the investigation.

He said the survey results would also allow the state government to take more effective measures to address challenges and strengthen infrastructure development in Selangor.

“This initiative aims to identify and analyse the challenges and issues faced in the infrastructure sector related to investments in the state,” said Lau.

“We urge all affected and relevant investors, manufacturers and stakeholders to participate by completing this survey form so that infrastructure development in Selangor, particularly those involving new investments, can continue to be strengthened.”

The survey form can be accessed through the Selangor state assembly’s portal or via this link.

Lau said Selcat would review each response received, and the Selangor state assembly secretariat would contact respondents to seek clarification or further information if necessary.

Apart from providing their personal details, the survey’s respondents are also asked to provide information on the infrastructure issues – such as those relating to water, electricity, roads and telecommunications – that they have faced.

Respondents are also asked whether the issues have been reported to the relevant authorities such as local councils, utility providers, the land office and InvestSelangor and details of the feedback received.
