PETALING JAYA:
A family dispute in Klang last month turned violent, resulting in an assault on a 37-year-old man with wooden sticks and parangs which left him with wounds on his head and hands.

Klang Selatan police chief Cha Hoong Fong said the incident occurred at 9.30pm on Feb 7, when the victim was assaulted by his cousin and his two friends.

He said the dispute was sparked by a family issue, and left the victim in need of hospital treatment.

A 41-year-old man with a criminal record was arrested on Feb 12 and charged five days later with voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.

However, two other suspects are still on the loose.

“Police are working to track down and arrest the two suspects,” Cha said in a statement.

He also acknowledged that a video of the assault was being circulated, and urged the public against spreading it any further.
