The 27-year-old is believed to have done so following an argument with his wife.

Johor Bahru Selatan police chief Raub Selamat said police received a report about the incident at 12.25am.

“The victim is now in critical condition and is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of Sultanah Aminah Hospital,” Kosmo reported him as saying.

Previously, a video was widely shared on X showing the man cutting his throat in front of a restaurant.

Raub urged the public not to spread the video to avoid speculation and misunderstandings.
