He said DAP had appointed a third party – an international firm – to oversee the election process and ensure that it is conducted fairly and transparently.
“I have full confidence in DAP’s values, in our delegates, and our members that such things will not happen,” he told a press conference after attending an event in conjunction with the MyWIRA Women’s Convention 2025.
Former Bagan Dalam assemblyman Satees Muniandy earlier said that a life member of DAP had alleged that vote-buying had crept into the election process for the party’s top leadership posts.
The member claimed delegates were being offered cash in the guise of “travel allowances” and a weekend stay at a five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Satees also said multiple sources told him a Penang MP and assemblyman were involved in securing votes for their political superior.
Satees, who is now the Urimai secretary, said he was prepared to lodge an official complaint to demand accountability.
Sim said Satees was welcome to report the matter but noted that he was no longer with DAP.
“He is not a party member; he can say whatever he wants. If he wants to go to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, that is his right,” Sim said.
