Four Sarawak villages flooded, as more seek shelter in Sabah

The number of flood victims rose in Sabah, but Melaka closed its last relief centre as four evacuees returned home.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Residents of four villages in Sarawak were evacuated from floodwaters today, while the number of flood victims seeking shelter at relief centres in Sabah rose tonight.

Water levels at the Sungai Trusan rose to 0.9m causing 35 people from four villages in Trusan, Lawas, to be evacuated.

In Sabah, the number of flood victims rose to 1,010 people from 325 families at 8pm, as 10 villages each in Beaufort and Membakut were flooded.

However, Melaka received the all clear, with the last four evacuees leaving the relief centre in Jasin.
