PETALING JAYA: Top national women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M Thinaah defeated South Korean pair Jeong Na Eun-Lee Yeon Woo tonight to enter the last eight of the Orleans Masters in France.
Pearly-Thinaah beat Na Eun-Yeon Woo 22-20 in the first game but lost 11-21 in the second, before winning the decider 21-14.
National mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei crashed out of the tournament after losing in straight games to Indonesian pair RN Kusharjanto and GE Widjaja 8-21, 17-21.
Earlier today, professional men’s singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating India’s Srikanth Kidambi .
The world No 8, who won 21-11, 21-17, will next face Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen for a spot in the semi-finals.
