In a Facebook post, Wee said he received a letter from Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul about the motion filed by Kampar MP Chong Zhemin.
He said the motion concerned Wee’s argument about EPF suffering losses from selling MAHB shares low and buying them back high, which was ruled not misleading as losses did occur.
“Thank you (Johari) for your wise decision,” said Wee.
“Since YB Kampar had promised in the Dewan Rakyat to resign if EPF lost even a single sen, he should now fulfil that promise to uphold the integrity of Parliament and ensure the Dewan Rakyat is not misled by his words and promises.”
The letter from Johari stated he had examined both the motion from Chong and an explanation from Wee.
Johari concluded that there was no prima facie case regarding the matters raised under Rule 36(12) of the Dewan Rakyat’s Standing Order.
The rule pertains to statements that mislead the Dewan Rakyat.
