In a statement, chief minister Chow Kon Yeow said the management and teachers of Islamic religious schools, as well as the teachers and staff of private Chinese schools in Penang, would receive RM300.
He said a total of 7,066 civil servants in Penang are expected to receive the aid.
“The aid will be disbursed from March 19 and is estimated to involve a total allocation of RM7.81 million by the state government,” he said.
“This aid will also be extended to local authorities, statutory bodies, and state government subsidiaries.”
The Padang Kota assemblyman said the aid was a token of appreciation from the state to civil servants for their commitment to realising the state government’s 2030 vision, which is aimed at driving economic growth and enhancing quality of life.
