KUALA LUMPUR:
Two content creators claimed trial at the magistrates’ court today over their alleged involvement in a brawl at a shopping mall last month, while four others pleaded guilty to the same offence.

Ammar Nazhan Noralyadi, 29, and Hafizul Haiman, 23, pleaded not guilty before magistrate Aina Azahra Arifin.

They were accused of causing an affray at The Cage, LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC), at around 10.15pm on Feb 25.

They were charged under Section 160 of the Penal Code, which carries a punishment of up to six months’ jail, a fine of up to RM1,000, or both, upon conviction.

During mitigation, their lawyer, K Ramalingam, appealed for a lower bail, saying his clients earn less than RM2,000 as content creators. Both are single.

The magistrate set bail at RM3,000 with one surety each. The case is scheduled for mention on April 14.

The court also fined four other individuals RM500 each after they pleaded guilty to the same charge.

The accused are Rahim Abdul Hakim, 23; Ady Putra Amirul Abdul Rahman, 18; Al Mubarak Bahauddin Selamet, 28; and Jebat Zulfar Nurfakhrullah Abdul Ghapar, 24.
