PETALING JAYA:
Singaporean authorities have ordered a recall of Happy Family oatmeal cookies from Malaysia after finding that it contains milk, which was undeclared on its label.

The Singapore Food Agency said that under the republic’s food regulations, food products containing ingredients that are known to cause hypersensitivity must be declared on their packaging labels to protect consumers with food allergies.

“Allergens in food could result in allergic reactions in individuals who are sensitive to it. As milk is an allergen, SFA has directed the importer, CMM Marketing Management Pte Ltd, to recall the Happy Family oatmeal cookies,” it said in a statement.

“Consumers who have purchased the affected products, and who are intolerant of, or allergic to, milk, should not consume them.”

It said those who have consumed the oatmeal cookies should seek medical advice if they have concerns about their health.

Consumers may also contact their point of purchase for enquiries, it said.
