Sim said the opposition should instead focus on the ministry’s achievements.
He said the town hall, which was held last week, revolved around the ministry’s efforts to develop a mechanism to protect over one million gig workers in the country.
“But the opposition is only interested in the poster (promoting the event). If we consistently focus on such issues, we would be left behind,” he said when launching the National Training Week 2025, here.
Yesterday, the ministry lodged a police report against a Bersatu member for claiming that the graphic used in a banner to promote a town hall contained elements of pluralism and secularism.
Bersatu’s Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, had a few days ago questioned the ministry’s decision to use a picture of what he claimed was a church as the backdrop for the town hall banner.
He wondered if the picture of a church was used to show that all religions were equal, which he then claimed was a push for pluralism and liberalism.
In the police report, a ministry representative said the graphic designer had relied on Canva, a software that provided the tools to create graphics for social media posts and presentations, among others.
A ministry source told FMT that the designer had chosen the backdrop after using the software to search for town hall-related images.
Today, Sim said the police report had been lodged as Badrul’s actions were seditious.
