PETALING JAYA:
The body of a 19-month-old toddler, who had been reported missing since Monday, was found caught in tree roots at the mouth of a river in Kampung Kerila today.

Hud Aryan Nor Hafifi’s body was found approximately seven kilometres from the victim’s family home, Berita Harian reported.

Tanah Merah fire and rescue station chief, Zulkifli Osman, said the victim’s body was sent to Tanah Merah Hospital for a post-mortem, and the family had been asked to identify the remains.

“The search and rescue team, consisting of police, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, firefighters, and local villagers, found the victim.

“When the incident occurred, the river’s water level was high. However, the receding waters today led to the discovery of the victim’s body,” he was quoted as saying.

Hud Aryan was first reported missing when his family realised he was not inside the house at around 7.20pm on Monday.
