
He said AirAsia would offer 16,000 seats across more than 90 late-night flights between March 28 and April 5.
“The government remains steadfast in our mission to make air travel more accessible for all Malaysians,” he said, referring to the airfare subsidies the government had provided in response to complaints about high ticket prices.
“By working closely with key industry players like AirAsia, we are actively enhancing connectivity, lowering travel costs, and ultimately improving the well-being of the rakyat,” he said after officiating AirAsia’s second fixed-fare flight initiative for the year.
Also present was AirAsia Malaysia CEO Fareh Mazputra.
One-way fares between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, or Miri, as well as between Johor Bahru and Kuching and Sibu are fixed at RM328.
Flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, or Tawau, as well as between Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu, are available at RM388.
Loke said the initiative, which proved its impact during the recent Chinese New Year celebration, would once again play a role in reuniting families during the upcoming Raya festivities.
