Three workers were injured in a gas explosion at a factory in Bayan Lepas today. One man, aged 49, suffered a leg fracture, while the others had minor injuries.

Penang fire and rescue commander Abdul Manap Kadir said firefighters discovered that the explosion, which occurred within the factory, was caused by an FM 200 cylinder for a fire suppression system.

The cause of the explosion and extent of the damage are still under investigation.
