PETALING JAYA: Malaysian carmaker Perodua has been approached by English football giants Manchester United for discussions on a potential sponsorship and partnership, according to its chairman Asmat Kamaludin.
Asmat said Perodua recently received a letter from the 20-time English champions and was currently evaluating a proposal to display the carmaker’s logo on their jerseys, reported Berita Harian.
“Personally, as an Arsenal fan, it feels a bit unfair to Arsenal,” he quipped.
Asmat said United’s interest indicated Perodua’s growing recognition at an international level. “We will consider it,” he added.
In March last year, United and Malaysia Airlines inked a strategic, multi-year partnership, with the national carrier named as the club’s official commercial airline.
