KUALA LUMPUR: A gunman shot a shopping mall janitor in anger last night after being told to move his belongings in the area, according to preliminary police investigations.
Bukit Aman CID director Shuhaily Zain said that the gunman, who is in his 30s, was suspected to be under the influence of drugs at that time. However the real motive has yet to be determined, he told reporters.
Suhaily said further investigations were being conducted to track down the gunman.
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said earlier today that the janitor at the Setia Alam mall was putting away cleaning equipment when the gunman fired four shots, hitting him in the leg and buttocks. Hussein said the suspect has a record of 11 drug and criminal offences.
