Missing woman found dead

She was found inside a grey Proton Saga at the car park of a beach in Jeram, Kuala Selangor.

Yong Jia Yein, the 34-year-old woman who went missing last Wednesday, has been found dead.

Petaling Jaya deputy police chief Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly told reporters this morning that Yong’s family had been informed that her body was found today.

Yong was last seen leaving her home at Pelangi Utama Condominium in a blue Proton Iswara on Jan 29.

In a statement this afternoon, Kuala Selangor police chief Azaharudin Tajudin said the district police headquarters received a call at 2am today from a police team patrolling Remis beach in Jeram, Kuala Selangor.

The team reported the discovery of a deceased woman inside a grey Proton Saga which was found at the beach’s parking lot.

Azaharudin said the car’s doors were locked, and fire and rescue department personnel had to pry open the doors to remove the woman’s body.

“Initial examinations revealed no physical injuries or criminal elements,” said Azaharudin.

“The body has been sent to Tanjong Karang Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, and the case has been classified as sudden death,” he said.

He called on members of the public with information on the case to contact the Kuala Selangor police headquarters at 03-32891222 or the nearest police station.
