PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested four men in connection with the incident in which two vehicles rammed into a group of people outside a nightclub in Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur last night.

Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Azry Akmar Ayob said they will apply for a remand order on the suspects today, Berita Harian reported.

In a statement, he said that the incident, which saw two people injured, was believed to have stemmed from a disagreement between the suspects and victims when they were partying.

Earlier this morning, Brickfields police chief Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said a report was lodged by a witness.

He said one of the victims had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance.

A video of the incident widely shared on social media shows the two vehicles coming out of a side lane before driving into the people standing by the side of the road, in front of a building.

The vehicles then make a U-turn and drive against the flow of traffic before swerving to target the same group.

Ku Mashariman said the case will be investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder, an offence punishable by at least 10 years in jail and a fine upon conviction.
