Presuming our political leaders to be too busy to find out for themselves, FMT asked a feng shui master to gaze into his crystal ball and make some predictions about how five big names are likely to fare in the coming year.
Good Feng Shui Group founder Kenny Hoo told us he studied their “bazi” — their birth year, month, day and hour, known as the four pillars of a person’s destiny.
According to Hoo, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim may face certain challenges in the months of May, August and November, but not as far as his health is concerned. Hoo expects Anwar to be in robust health throughout the coming lunar year.
“I think Anwar will still be able to lead the country, and that the unity government will still be intact this year,” Hoo said.
He said Anwar should focus on economic and infrastructure development this year, as his bazi reading suggests he will be able to attract even more foreign investments to Malaysia in the upcoming year.
He also said Anwar’s luck will take a significant upturn if he can build on the confidence of his supporters.
‘Smooth-sailing’ for Zahid, concerns for Najib, Muhyiddin

Deputy prime minister and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is also not expected to have much to worry about this year, as Hoo predicts he will not encounter any major challenges in the Year of the Snake.
“This year should be quite smooth-sailing for him, compared to the last two,” he said.

However, Hoo said former prime ministers Najib Razak and Muhyiddin Yassin may face certain challenges, particularly, as regards their health.
He said Najib, currently serving a jail sentence in Kajang prison, must prioritise his health in the upcoming lunar year. Likewise, Muhyiddin, particularly in the middle and towards the end of the year.

“Muhyiddin needs to take care of his health in the months of June and December, as he may face exhaustion and a lack of energy,” said Hoo.
He said the Perikatan Nasional chairman was currently in a “less favourable cycle” and may face a decline in political support between this year and next.
Muhyiddin is currently standing trial on seven charges — four for abuse of power for purportedly obtaining RM232.5 million in bribes, and three for money laundering involving RM200 million. The sessions court is expected to fix trial dates when the matter comes up for case management on Feb 18.
Centenarian Dr M will chug on

Another former prime minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who turns 100 on July 10, is expected to keep chugging on in the Year of the Snake.
However, Hoo said the soon-to-be centenarian must take extra care of his health, especially in the months of July and October, and in January next year.
He said Mahathir’s bazi reading shows that his energy levels remain fair, although his luck and career moving forward is likely to be “so-so only”.
