PETALING JAYA: Red chillies, large yellow onions, imported large shallots, short mustard greens and chicken wings have been added to the domestic trade and cost of living ministry’s festive season maximum price scheme for Chinese New Year.
Bernama reported minister Armizan Mohd Ali as saying of the five items, chicken wings is applicable only for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
Speaking at a press conference in Teluk Intan, he said the number of listed items has come up to 16 from 11 last year, and the scheme would be effective for nine days from Jan 25 to Feb 2.
Armizan said enforcement of the price control scheme would ensure wholesalers and retailers did not sell the listed goods over the set maximum price.
He said the goods should also be marked with pink price tags.
