A man who spooked local residents by dressing as a mummy and walking in the middle of a road in Sungai Besar, Selangor, is said to be mentally ill.

Sabak Bernam police chief Robin Guha Thakurta said the 25-year-old was arrested after they were informed of the man at about 10am today, Sinar Harian reported.

“Further investigation found that the man is struggling with mental health issues,” he said.

He said the man was brought to Sabak Bernam Hospital for treatment, accompanied by a family member.

Earlier today, social media was abuzz over the sighting of the “mummy”, as he walked in the middle of the road with his arms crossed over his chest, leaving motorists bemused.
