In a statement, PHC said passengers can board the shuttle service at Komtar’s Station 9 bus stop on Jalan Ria to travel to the Penang Hill Lower Station and vice versa.
PHC said the initiative was to ease traffic congestion during the festive season and to improve visitor experience by reducing travel time and eliminating the hassle of navigating roads and parking.
“Operating from 9am to 9pm, the service will offer eight round trips daily, that is one every 90 minutes. The shuttle bus is also wheelchair accessible, ensuring convenience for passengers with special accessibility needs,” it said.
PHC added that for easy identification, the shuttle bus will be marked with “Penang Hill Free Shuttle” on the front.
Additionally, the pick-up and drop-off points will feature distinct visuals to ensure that the shuttle service is easily identified by commuters.
The shuttle service timetable can be found on PHC’s official website and social media platforms.
If the scheduled free shuttle bus is full, PHC suggests that commuters use the regular Rapid Penang bus service, Route No 204, which operates from Terminal Bas Weld Quay via Komtar to Penang Hill at the standard fare.
“The (Rapid Penang bus) service runs every 35 minutes during peak hours and every 45 minutes during off-peak hours,” PHC said.
