Woman driver charged with causing accident while cutting queue

The woman, 38, was alleged to have refused to obey the orders of policemen, attempting to flee, and nearly knocking down one cop in the process.

A 38-year-old woman has been charged with reckless driving and obstructing a police officer after an accident in the city centre on Wednesday.

A 38-year-old woman driver was charged in the Kuala Lumpur magistrates’ court today with causing an accident while cutting a queue in the city centre and defying police orders.

Dang Wangi police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said in a statement that the woman was charged with reckless driving and obstructing a police officer in the discharge of his duties.

He said the incident occurred at the Jalan Imbi-Jalan Sultan Ismail junction at 5.15pm on Wednesday. The woman was arrested and remanded for two days before she was charged today.

Sulizmie did not state if the accused claimed trial or pleaded guilty.
