PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry has denied claims that one of its senior officials had made a fuss over not being accorded “VVIP” treatment by healthcare workers at Putrajaya Hospital recently.

The federal territories health department confirmed that the official involved was at Putrajaya Hospital’s emergency and trauma department on Jan 4.

It added that it held a thorough investigation into the allegation after it surfaced on Telegram.

“What was depicted in the posting is baseless. The narrative presented is believed to be intended to tarnish the good name of the official and ruin her credibility,” it said in a statement.

The department said anyone can file complaints related to the health ministry through its public complaint system via https://moh.spab.gov.my/.

“The system is independently managed and does not answer to the state health department or director. Complaints will be managed according to the set procedure,” it added.

Last week, whistleblower account Edisi Siasat shared a posting from a “most disappointed senior medical officer” who claimed the senior official had caused a scene for not being given “VVIP” treatment at Putrajaya Hospital on Jan 4.

The author of the posting accused the official of displaying a sense of entitlement and claimed her actions had wasted the resources and time of the hospital’s staff who had to entertain her.
