Govt allocates RM80,000 for fire victims in Kedah village

The fire destroyed 14 out of 17 houses, leaving many residents homeless and one victim critically injured.

PETALING JAYA:
The government has approved a special allocation of RM80,000 under the prime minister’s discretionary fund to aid the victims of a devastating fire in Kampung Keda, Tanjung Dawai, Kedah.

The Jan 5 fire destroyed 14 out of 17 houses, leaving many residents homeless and one victim critically injured.

The RM80,000 allocation was presented by Kamil Munim, the political secretary to Anwar Ibrahim in his capacity as finance minister.

“This aid is a first step to help the victims rebuild their lives. It reflects the government’s commitment to prioritising public welfare in times of crisis,” he said.
