PETALING JAYA:
National men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun downed French brothers Christo Popov and Toma Junior Popov to storm into the Malaysian Open semi-finals today.

The world No 14 pair defeated the Popov brothers in straight games of 21-15, 21-11 in 40 minutes.

It was a sad ending for the Popov brothers who are ranked 15 rungs below the Malaysian pair, after they showed promise following two convincing wins over Japanese and Taiwanese pairs.

The Malaysians will meet China’s world No 18 pair Chen Bo Yang-Liu Yi in the semi-final.
