Most of Johor to experience very heavy rain till Sunday

This involves the districts of Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru.

Large parts of Johor are expected to experience very heavy rain which will continue until Sunday, the meteorological department (MetMalaysia) said today.

MetMalaysia said this forecast involves the districts of Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru, as well as Rompin in Pahang.

It also warned of continuous heavy rain till Jan 12 in Bera and Pekan, Pahang; and Tangkak, Segamat and Muar, Johor.

Several states were also urged to be cautious of continuous rain, also until Sunday, including the whole of Melaka

The others are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit and Bintulu in Sarawak; Hulu Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu; Jerantut, Maran and Kuantan in Pahang; as well as Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan.

There are currently 18 people in Manjung, Perak, being sheltered in a relief centre due to flooding.
