Apad director-general Azlan Shah declined to comment on the case, urging reporters to direct their questions to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
“We are not involved and have nothing to do with this issue. (Any query) has to be referred to (MACC),” he said, according to Berita Harian.
“We will let the relevant enforcement agency carry out its duty,” he added.
MACC has arrested eight people suspected of involvement in corruption to obtain approval letters for commercial vehicle licences without meeting the required conditions.
Two company directors and an officer from a government agency are reportedly among the eight detainees. They have been remanded until Sunday.
