Melaka police chief Nazri Zawawi said magistrate Syaliati Sobri had granted the remand order, starting today, for the 43-year-old man.
Nazri said the suspect was arrested in front of a house in Paya Rumput at 10.25pm yesterday after the headmistress of the school filed a report at the Tanjung Minyak police station, Berita Harian reported.
“The complainant, 53, informed police that the two girls had come to her office, crying and in fear,” he said in a statement.
“Shocked by the incident, the headmistress asked a few female teachers to help calm down the two students,” he added.
Nazri said the students claimed the suspect had invited them into the haunted house attraction. The duo followed him at about 10am and the suspect allegedly molested the two there.
He said the complainant and several other teachers found the suspect at the haunted house and questioned him about the incident but he denied molesting the girls.
“The headmistress immediately contacted the students’ parents and informed them of what had transpired before making a police report,” he added.
He also said a urine test conducted on the suspect found him positive for methamphetamine.
