PETALING JAYA:
Two company directors and an officer from a government agency have been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

They are suspected to be involved in corruption to obtain approval letters for commercial vehicle licences without meeting the required conditions, Bernama reported.

Putrajaya magistrate Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin allowed an MACC application to detain them for four days. The three are aged in their 40s and 50s.

Sources said the three were among eight arrested during Op Loader, an operation conducted by MACC’s intelligence division in Melaka and the Klang Valley yesterday.

MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya yesterday confirmed the arrests.

He said the case is being investigated under Sections 16 and 17 of the MACC Act 2009 regarding soliciting and receiving bribes.
