Pulau Sibuan closed after possible WWII bomb discovery

The closure, which started at 12.30pm today, will remain in effect until the area is declared safe.

PETALING JAYA:
Sabah Parks has temporarily closed access to Pulau Sibuan near Semporna and its surrounding waters following the discovery of a suspected World War II bomb.

In a statement today, the park management announced that the island, part of the Tun Sakaran Marine Park, will remain closed from 12.30pm today until the area is deemed completely safe.

“The inconvenience regarding this matter is deeply regretted.”

Pulau Sibuan, a small sand island near Bohey Dulang, is famous for its clear blue waters and white sandy beaches, making it a popular tourist destination.
