Seremban police chief Hatta Che Din said preliminary investigations revealed the accident occurred when a 22-year-old man lost control of his Proton Exora while travelling from Seremban towards Kuala Pilah, Bernama reported.
The vehicle reportedly swerved into the opposite lane before colliding with a Perodua Kancil and a Perodua Axia at 6.45pm.
“Due to the collision, all three vehicles veered off the road and crashed into the metal guardrail on the left side of the road towards Seremban.
“The married couple in the Perodua Axia sustained severe head injuries.”
Hatta said the driver of the Proton Exora, who was travelling alone, broke both legs.
The occupants in the Perodua Kancil sustained minor injuries.
Hatta said the case is being investigated for driving recklessly at speed or dangerously under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
In a separate accident, a woman was killed while eight others were injured in a collision involving a lorry and an MPV at Km86 of Jalan Johor Bahru-Ayer Hitam, near Kluang, yesterday.

He said the lorry struck the right side of a Toyota Estima, causing severe head injuries to a 39-year-old woman seated at the back of the MPV. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A seven-month-old baby girl in the MPV also sustained head injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang.
“The other victims in the Toyota Estima, including the 26-year-old male driver, also suffered injuries and are being treated at the same hospital. The lorry driver was taken to Pantai Hospital Batu Pahat for treatment,” he said in a statement today.
